I personally have only eaten in the cafeteria four times since i have been here at Stockton. Of my four times eating in the Stockton cafeterias I have only been satisfied once. It may be because I come from an Italian/Spanish family and am accustomed to amazing home cooking or it may be because cafeteria food will always be just plain cafeteria food. My first experience in the Stockton cafeteria was actually in the food court. My friends and I just wanted a quick bite to eat and stopped in around 1:00pm. There were barely any wraps or sandwiches in the refrigerated shelves and the lines for every cash register were extremely long. When we finally sat down at a dirty table to eat at we unwrapped or wraps only to find dry chicken with soggy breadcrumbs on the outside some lettuce celery and a scarce amount of sauce. This wrap was by far the driest poorest excuse of a wrap I have ever eaten. I mean who would even own up to their work of making that wrap because I know I wouldn’t. I decided to give the food court another try the evening right before I left for home. I went to Primo’s Pizza and was very pleased with the setup and staff. All the staff was smiling and the little “pizza parlor” looked like one out of a movie. It had a rotating brick oven and a copious amount of pizzas with different toppings and also a delicious looking salad bar. I chose a slice of Sicilian pizza and my first impression was very delicious. Little did I know I was going to have a continuous stomach ache for the next two days. It started about an hour after I finished eating I began getting heartburn and then nausea and stomach pains. The entire next day I could not eat a morsel of food, only sips of ginger ale or a few Tums to soothe my stomach. It was not until the following morning I could eat anything. I am 100% dissatisfied with the food court. My next experience in the cafeteria was in the Osprey’s Nest and it was the only time I was satisfied. The setup was that of a buffet style restaurant with a hint of a school cafeteria. All employees were extremely nice and helpful and all the food looked eatable. The make your own stir fry station jumped out at me when looking at all my choices so I grabbed a bunch of beautifully presented vegetables and noodles and began to fry away adding a few of my favorite sauces from the large selection in front of me. My friends and I sat down to eat and I was very impressed by all the different flavors in my dish. I had just enough room left for some tasty ice cream. When I went to put my plate in the dirty bins a very nice male employee helped me get everything where it was supposed to go and sent me on my way with a smile on his face! Everyone was so nice in the Osprey’s Nest and I will definitely be going back!
